It's Been a Long Time

Wow...I didn't realize that it's been over a year that I updated this blog...so sorry for ignoring it! My friend Loralyn told me that she was going to delete my blog if I didn't update it so I'm doing my part to keep it up and running (thanks Loralyn)! So a lot has happened since April of 2010...we survived the summer last year by taking trips to Galveston with the family and we took Caroline down to Jellystone Camp in Canyon Lake which was so much fun! In August Caroline started Mothers Day Out at our church and I couldn't have been happier with her teachers and the entire program. She loved school and made some nice little friends in her class. We had fun dressing up as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz for Halloween and trick or treating was a wonderful experience (uh, please hear the sarcasm in my typing). In November we celebrated with Matt and Celeste as they became Husband and Wife which was a fantastic party! Caroline turned two in December (dear Lord, where has the time gone?) and we had a lot of fun at her birthday party. Christmas was certainly one full of blessings because our holidays were very good to us...Santa must have been very happy with us over the last year! So here we are in 2011...I can't believe it's half way over with because it seems like we just celebrated the New Year. We have been keeping busy with Kevin's truck racing schedule and of course Caroline keeps us busy on a daily basis...ready to enjoy summer and whatever adventures life may throw at us!

Momma's Night Out - Bon Jovi Concert

Amanda and I were so very fortunate enough to see the one and only Bon Jovi in Dallas and boy was it an awesome show! Everytime we've seen him he knocks our socks off! We drove up to Dallas Saturday afternoon and came home the next day...just the perfect little get a way for some "mommy" time! Thank you so much for a wonderful time Amanda...it's always so much fun when we're on an adventure...and talk about some delicious eye candy too!

Easter

Unfortunately daddy had to work another Easter but Caroline and I had a great day. We got up and went to mass (which was total chaos) and then spent the day up in New Waverly at our family's crawfish boil/fish fry. We had a great day and Caroline ran around until she couldn't do it anymore! The Easter bunny was good to the munchkin...I don't think I ever had a basket that overflowed like hers did!

How did the Easter bunny know I would like these Elmo eggs?

Getting Ready for Easter

I wish Caroline was able to understand how excited I was to dye Easter eggs with her this year. I told everyone I knew about my purchase of the Easter egg kit...I was counting down the days. I was hoping that Caroline would have been more excited for what was about to happen but it just didn't happen! Oh well...next year will bring a bit more emotion I hope. She wanted to lick every egg before we put them in the dye which was fine since they were hard boiled, but after that, she really wanted nothing to do with them. Momma had a good time though...

Girls Weekend in Galveston

Girls weekend in Galveston was so much fun and SO long overdue! This was my first weekend away with just me since Caroline has joined our family and let me tell you, it was SO much fun! My Aunt Sharon, Aunt Theresa, Aunt Susan, cousin Erin, mom and Celeste took Galveston by storm and had a wonderful weekend full of laughter and special memories. This was a shot of the group after dinner at Rudy and Paco's located near the strand...excellent food and delicious drinks too...we were stuffed and all begging for our expandable PJ's!

Rodeo Time

In early March we took Caroline to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo...we went to see the petting zoo and all of the wonderful livestock animals too. It was the first time she was up close and personal to cows, goats, sheep, pigs, etc. She had a great time. We're looking forward to next year and her being able to ride some rides and get into some of the typical festival food!

There was a baby lamb born the day before we went and she was named Caroline too! Pooped from our day at the rodeo...she was zonked out!

Start of Racing Season

As usual, late, late, late! Back towards the end of February Kevin started his racing season running a Nascar Pro Series Truck...he's in heaven. I think he's done five races since the start of the season and so far he's not wrecked or had to do any major overhaul to the truck (wooo-hooo!). Here are some pictures from opening day...

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was really special for us...technically it was Caroline's 2nd Christmas but we considered this her first real Christmas as she was only 2 weeks old the first time around. She was so much fun this year! She had quite a few presents waiting for her from Santa...she must have been one good little girl this past year! Watching her face light up when she saw the new selection of toys was priceless...watching her play and learn with what was in front of her was so memorable for me as a mommy. I'm looking foward to many more Christmas mornings spent with her in the future! She was such a big girl in her new car!

Holy crap, I'm in a picture! Mommy and Caroline on Christmas morning.

Mom, it's finally time for me to tear into these gifts? Hooray!

It's Been Quiet at the Wiseman Household...

As usual, it's been several weeks since I've posted anything to the blog site. Sorry. Actually, it's been pretty quiet here in the Wiseman world! Caroline is doing great, she's 14 and a half months old and is running us to the point of exhaustion! She's like the ball in a pin ball machine...that's a good way to describe her! ha! ha! Kevin and I had the opportunity to run off to Florida over Valentine's Day weekend to attend the Daytona 500 and we had a great time. I mean we went all the way to sunny Florida to sit in 30 something degree weather for four days straight...what's not fun about that? Just joking...not about the weather part, but we did have a fabulous time! We saw some great racing and I got my fill of my favorite driver, No. 9, Kasey Khane!

Kevin and I sitting on the track...we had passes to get on the infield before a few of the races.

Before the Daytona 500 started...it was a beautiful afternoon (at the very beginning).

Christmas Eve

Sadly, I didn't take a lot of pictures on Christmas Eve...but we had a great day/night! We went to the Children's mass at our church which was beautiful! Pawpaw and Gigi came to church with us but because it was packed they didn't get to sit with us...no biggie though. After mass we headed back home to change and then we headed off to our cousin's house where her and her family cook an amazing dinner for family friends every year. This was the first time we got to enjoy this party in a few years so it was nice to celebrate Christmas Eve with everyone there. Caroline was a trooper...there were so many kids there and so many new toys that she just ran herself completely tired! Here are a few pictures I took before we left for church...I'm going to have to figure out a way that I can get into some of these photos!

Nothing was Safe...

Well, as we prepared for Christmas we quickly discovered that nothing was safe from little Miss Caroline! We had boxes piled up in the dining room just incase we needed them for presents and you can tell by our tree that we had to put a gate around it...she's just too curious! No bow, present or box was safe...she had to have her hands over everything! Here are some pictures of me catching her in the act(s)...

Caroline got caught pulling on some ribbon...she just couldn't leave it alone!
Our friend said it best...our tree was in "jail"...she's pulling the ribbon thru the gate!

Caroline's Birthday (official birthday)

On the day of Caroline's birthday, daddy was home and we took advantage of his free time! We all got dressed up and headed out to the Mall for family photos and Caroline's 1st birthday photos too. It was pretty chilly outside...just perfect for December weather! Photos went well but Caroline wasn't as "smiley" as she usually is...we tried a new place so maybe she wasn't feeling the vibe I guess. That evening we went and met our new friend Reagan...Heather gave birth to our newest friend on December 3rd so we had been anxiously waiting to meet the little one. Reagan is adorable and slept most of the time we were there...but according to her mom...she's a night owl during the wee hours of the morning. We brought cupcakes to the Cowham's in order to celebrate and boy did Caroline rip into those! She made more of a mess with her cupcake than with her cake at her birthday party. We had a great day finished up with a great night! Happy birthday my lovebug...you have brought us so much love and happiness!

I'm the birthday girl and I'm going to enjoy every bite of this!

All finished!

Caroline's First Birthday Party

It's hard to believe that Caroline had her first birthday on December 9th. I was very emotional in the days that lead up to her birthday...so hard to believe that a year had flown right by me. Everyone tells you to enjoy your time with your babies because the time just speeds by and that is just one big understatement! Caroline has been the most beautiful blessing to our lives and we are so lucky to have been given such a wonderful little angel. I have enjoyed this first year of her life more than I can ever put into words...becoming a mother, watching her learn and discover new things, watching her change daily, etc...it is all such a blessing! Happy birthday my lovebug...I love you more than you can ever know.

Caroline's cake...momma was so happy with it!

She wasn't tryin' to wear her hat...oh well...
Caroline was a bit of a diva with the cake...really didn't get it everywhere

Christmas Tree Hunt

We all went out as a family to pick out the Christmas tree on Friday, 12/4 and it was a great afternoon. There was a chill in the air but it wasn't too cold...cool enough to be thinking about Christmas (thank goodness). This Christmas is going to be extra special for us as it's Caroline's first REAL Christmas. I know it's technically her second, but it's the first one where she's going to be aware of presents and toys and things like that. We took some shots of us getting our tree...I don't think it's possible that we picked a bigger one for our living room!

Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Fry

Every year we have our friends gather around and fry up some delicious turkey...it was no exception this year. We had a wonderful evening with the Logans, Vogels, Reegs, Yens, Call/Young, Cowhams, DeMarinos...it was a great evening! The kids were the main attraction...I never thought my house could be so crazy and rambunctious...but we made some wonderful memories and had a great time with everyone. It was the perfect opportunity to kick off the holiday season!
